Why Anton Harrison is trending

Anton Harrison is trending because ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Jaguars left tackle will have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee once the team returns from London next week.

What's known: Harrison got hurt in last Sunday's 19-17 win over Philadelphia at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and he's expected to miss time. What isn't known yet is how much time. The team has not determined the severity of the injury, and depending on what surgeons find once they're inside the knee, Harrison could be out three to five weeks or for the rest of the regular season.

What happens next: the surgery happens next week, after the Jaguars play Houston on Sunday at Wembley Stadium and fly home to Jacksonville. The outlook should get clearer once doctors see the knee during the procedure.

How the injury happened

Harrison was hurt while blocking on a running play, a sweep to the right by Bhayshul Tuten. He appeared to grab his right knee after disengaging from his block and went down to the ground.

He was eventually taken off the field on a cart. The Jaguars won the game 19-17 over Philadelphia at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

What the Jaguars do next

Walker Little, who came in after Harrison went down, is expected to start at left tackle going forward. The Jaguars are 4-1 and play Houston, which is 1-4, this Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London. The team is scheduled to fly back to Jacksonville after that game, and Harrison's surgery is set for once they're home.

Harrison's background

Harrison was the 27th overall pick in the 2023 draft. He was moved from right tackle to left tackle during training camp this year, after missing just three games at right tackle across his first three seasons. The Jaguars picked up his fifth-year option back in April.
