Javonte Williams ran for a career-high 155 yards and Dak Prescott threw for three scores as Dallas handed Philadelphia its fifth straight loss on Monday night.
Dallas rolls into Philadelphia and leaves with a blowout
The Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21 Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field, piling up 416 total yards and leaning on Dak Prescott's three touchdown passes to pull away. Dallas improved to 3-4 and 2-2 in the division. Philadelphia dropped to 2-5 and 1-3, its fifth straight loss.
Brandon Aubrey opened the scoring with a 55-yard field goal, and the teams traded touchdowns through the first half before Dallas pulled ahead for good in the third quarter. CeeDee Lamb hauled in a 16-yard touchdown pass from Prescott, who ran in the two-point conversion himself to make it 28-21. Aubrey added field goals from 27 and 24 yards, and Javonte Williams capped the night with a 2-yard touchdown run with 2:21 left.
Prescott finds Lamb twice, Williams runs wild
Prescott finished 15 of 27 for 212 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to Lamb, who caught five passes for 74 yards. Williams ran 25 times for 155 yards and a touchdown, a career high, and George Pickens added a 21-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter. Dallas finished with 204 rushing yards as a team and did not turn the ball over.
Eagles can't keep up without Hurts
Tanner McKee started again for Philadelphia and went 23 of 35 for 211 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He threw a 4-yard touchdown to Makai Lemon in the third quarter, and Saquon Barkley, listed questionable with a back issue, ran for 62 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Zack Baun led the Eagles with nine tackles. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the rest of the season because of blood clots in his lungs, and Philadelphia is 3-6 without him since he took over as the starter in 2021.
Overshown seals it as Cowboys stay in the NFC East race
DeMarvion Overshown intercepted a McKee pass late in the fourth quarter to seal the win, his first game back since a hamstring injury in Week 1. "Our division, we're in it," Overshown said. The New York Giants lead the NFC East at 4-2-1, and Dallas is the only other team in the division with two division wins. Philadelphia committed just one turnover and was outgained 416 yards to 321, but the loss stretched the Eagles' skid to five straight, their longest since 2016.
