Bijan Robinson ran for 194 yards and two touchdowns as the Atlanta Falcons pulled away from the Green Bay Packers 35-14 at Lambeau Field.
Falcons pull away at Lambeau
Green Bay hosted Atlanta at Lambeau Field and left with a 35-14 loss that got away in the middle quarters. The Packers led 7-0 after Christian Watson's 4-yard touchdown catch from Jordan Love with 5:13 left in the first quarter, and Atlanta answered on Bijan Robinson's 3-yard touchdown run to tie it 7-7 before the period ended. Nick Folk's 44-yard field goal put Atlanta ahead 10-7 in the second quarter, and Austin Hooper's 5-yard touchdown catch from Michael Penix Jr. with under a minute left in the half made it 17-7 at the break. Atlanta pulled away in the third quarter on Brian Robinson Jr.'s 7-yard touchdown run and never let Green Bay back in it.
Atlanta finishes the day 1-2 overall and 1-1 on the road. Green Bay drops to 1-2 overall and 0-1 at home.
Bijan Robinson carries the offense
Robinson did the heavy lifting for Atlanta, carrying 29 times for 194 yards and two touchdowns, including a 2-yard score in the fourth quarter that Atlanta turned into a two-point conversion pass from Michael Penix Jr. to Chris Blair for the final 35-14 margin. Penix finished 18 of 25 for 256 yards with a touchdown and an interception, connecting with Drake London nine times for 194 yards.
Nick Folk made both his field goal attempts, from 44 and 31 yards, to go with four extra points. Atlanta's rushing total of 242 yards dwarfed a Packers ground game that managed only 17 yards on the day.
Love and Golden keep it interesting
Jordan Love threw for 312 yards on 28-of-53 passing with two touchdowns and an interception. Watson caught the opening score, and Matthew Golden hauled in five catches for 100 yards including a 15-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter that cut the deficit to 27-14 before Atlanta answered right back with Robinson's second rushing touchdown.
Green Bay's 328 total yards came almost entirely through the air. Linebacker Zaire Franklin led the Packers defense with 10 tackles, while cornerback C.J. Henderson topped Atlanta's defense with eight. Each team turned the ball over once.
Injury notes
Green Bay will be watching linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, listed questionable with a head injury. Anthony Campbell (ankle) and Jayden Reed (neck) are both out for the Packers. Atlanta had three players out for coach's decision: Jack Strand, Cooper Rush and Robert Longerbeam.
